The Living Pelvis Top 12 List for 2025
Dos and Don'ts for a juicy, vital, healthy pus$y in the new year (and beyond)
I don’t love New Year’s resolutions because they are gimmickey and don’t last, so don’t read the following list as such. This is a list to inspire you for the rest of your life. I hope this list gives you something useful, maybe surprises you, and if you get huffy about something on here, great - start there.
#1 Stop wearing tight synthetic yoga pants.
Sorry to tell you but your Lulu’s are made with terrible-for-you materials. They leach into your skin, a digestive organ, and fill your bloodstream with chemicals that fuck with your delicate hormones. Screw these manufacturers making garbage in China.
INSTEAD: wear loose-fitting natural fibers so your body and pus$y specifically, can breathe and move. Find and prioritize companies made in the USA. I love my Yana Dee clothing!
#2 Throw away any panties made from non-natural materials, or panties from previous lover eras, or panties over 3 years old.
While you’re at it, I might suggest ditching yout thongs too. The washing machine doesn’t clean your panties effectively enough, especially if you’ve had anything off with your vaginal flora lately. The synthetic materials and poly fibers trap bacteria, and then those materials hug your pus$y all day?! Full stop. If we need natural fibers anywhere, it’s here. Also, old lover energy lingers. I can’t tell you how liberating it is to discard those old panties. Cut some cords and steam your pus$y while you’re at it!
INSTEAD: Again, I shop Yana Dee for new organic cotton panties and I love them. I used to wear thongs, and I have to admit, I was hesitant to try these high waisted briefs, but there is nothing more comfortable and it’s all I wear now.
#3 Stop putting anything inside of you during your bleed.
Not tampons or even those trendy cups. They can block the cervix, creating stagnation of your flow, and may also introduce harmful bacteria and chemicals.
INSTEAD: use organic cotton pads, period panties (Get 50% off your first purchase at Party In My Pants using code REFRAA2EZYVGB) or just free bleed. (Feed your plants the moon blood for extra witch points).
#4 Stop enduring painful sex, dutiful sex, and premature penetration.
Even with loving partners, this may register in our nervous system as trespass, especially for women healing from previous abuse. Women take 35-45 minutes to be fully engorged and for the cervix to move up inside the body. These physiological responses to arousal are important for pleasure and orgasm.
INSTEAD: make foreplay a non-negotiable and only welcome penetration when you are fully engorged, juicy, and wanting it. Pause if it hurts, and ask for what you need at all times.
#5 Stop using a vibrator (at least for a bit).
Vibrators deliver a mechanized stimulation that is unnatural to our tissues and causes more tension and desensitization. The reason women use vibrators is often because they have a lack of sensation in their body, or because they can’t orgasm any other way. There is also some weird notion that owning a lot of toys is somehow ‘sex-positive’, but I find that tedious. Vibrator delivered clitoral orgasm translates as, superficial orgasm. But there is a deeper world of pleasure to be found at the Cervix - a more surrendered, more vulnerable pleasure that builds empires of trust and safety within relationships. This takes time to discover, and only is available if the nervous system is detoxed from the unnatural vibration of machines.
INSTEAD: a good place to start is down-regulating your nervous system with slow gourmet self- exploration. Help your brain-cervix connection by using your very own hands on your body. No agenda, just slow self discovery. What would sex be like if you centered your cervix? If you dedicated time and energy to learning and feeling her? I wrote several helpful essays: My Case Against Vibrators & Cervix Centric Sex. Be kind and gentle with yourself, love.
#6 Stop letting them drug you.
Birth Control Pills are not a panacea. They are poisonous and are grossly overprescribed for non-contraceptive reasons, resulting in life and fertility altering consequences.
INSTEAD: learn to track, heal, and center your cycle, take back sensitivity of your body’s wisdom. Become a radical objector to Big Tech & Big Pharma by resurrecting your Wild Cycle (an essay I wrote to guide you). Watch the documentary The Business of Birth Control if you really want to blow your mind.
#7 Stop letting them cut you.
Hysterectomies are the 2nd most common surgery performed on women (the first is Cesarean). Biopsies and Colposcopies are over prescribed too. You can say NO. You don’t have to fall prey to the urgency and fear narratives. You have the right to research your options. Women’s bodies are heavily pathologized by western gynecology, as if the body is the problem. Potential Cancer, they say. It’s like they made this devious button they can push that will make us forget our minds with fear. The”C” button. Extreme surgical measures are suggested to women, playing on their fear. Colposcopy, LEEP, Hysterectomy, Cesarian. Very risky band-aids that often lead to further dysfunction.
The complete lack of interest as to WHY the body is growing abnormal cells on the cervix, WHY the menstrual cycle is painful and erratic, WHY the body is growing uterine lining cells outside the uterus, appalls me. Every day new ‘ism’s are invented because somehow naming things makes the diagnosis real… to convince us that we are broken and need to be fixed by their solutions.
INSTEAD: keep your vital organs and learn holistic ways to heal HPV, BV, Yeast Infections, PCOS, Endometriosis, Fibroids, and heavy bleeding. I can help. Here’s an essay I wrote on the unnecessary butchery in modern gynecology and obstetrics called Broken Heart, Broken Cervix.
#8 Stop being ignorant about your symptoms and cycles.
It is a wonderful time to be alive as a woman. There is a lot of information out there, information our mothers and grandmothers didn’t have access to. You body is magical and has intelligence designed into every atom. Your body is cyclical, just like the seasons. It’s time to own it! AND… There may be deeper wisdom to unpack about why you dissociate, or carry disdain or ambivalence towards your female body. Most of the women in your lineage were not free. Generations of trauma compounds and makes some of us want to binge and purge, some cut, some go non-binary, and some numb out. This is not trendy, it’s a call for help.
INSTEAD: discover your Infradian Rhythm, and sync your cyclical body back up with the rhythms of the lunar cycle. Also, be curious about why you self-abandon. View your symptoms as key markers for early detection and prevention. AND seek out somatic therapies and people who can help you navigate the waters of unpacking this. You don’t have to do it alone. I can help here too.
#9 Stop eating processed food, bad seed oils, and sugar. Stop drinking tap water, alcohol and caffeine.
INSTEAD: eat organic, pasture raised whole foods, and distill and filter the estrogen-mimicking & hormone-disrupting chemicals from your water. This is important, if you want to heal I recommend being stringent - aka don’t cheat. You can heal yourself with food. You can reprogram your food cravings. You can skyrocket your self esteem rapidly by taking care of yourself this way. Casey Means’s new book Good Energy is a must read.
#10 Stop sucking in your belly and doing ‘core work’ to ‘strengthen’.
There is no reason to suck in your belly, in fact it’s quite harmful. Women have very different inter-abdominal pressures than men, and these cues are built upon male physiology. Women’s bodies have an open canister from the rib basket to the pelvic bowl (because we gestate life) and sucking in the belly is like putting a rubber band around a balloon - it pushes up and it pushes down, and causes lots of pelvic dysfunction like organ prolapse, incontinence, inability to take diaphragmatic breaths, difficulty digesting etc. This is not how women need to stabilize their core.
INSTEAD: relax your belly and Pus$y, and strengthen your As$! Get hip to Strength Training for the Female Body with my sis Adelaide. The whole fitness industry, including Yoga and Pilates, was built upon male physiology, but we are not small men. We are women, we are designed to birth, and our bodies are radically different. There’s so much to unpack and relearn if you want to have a strong and supple body well into old age. Here’s an essay with my Top 6 Ah-Ha’s about these pelvic differences.
#11 Stop putting garlic cloves up there.
I’m not a proponent of putting any foreign materials inside the vagina, barring a little aloe for lubrication once in awhile. Our vaginas are incredible at balancing and self cleaning, as long as they have one thing going on, and that’s circulation.
INSTEAD: start steaming your pus$y to invite a uterine cleanse and balance your biome. This incredible and ancient practice stimulates blood circulation, lymph movement, elimination and detoxification, melts scar tissue, and so much more. Personalized protocols are based on the menstrual cycle, so I recommend first doing a consult and Menstrual Cycle Analysis with me, and then check out my sista-friend’s steam saunas and yoni herbs at Kitara to get set up at home (10% off with code Pelvis Love)
#12 Stop being stagnant and constipated.
Your detox pathways need to flow so toxicity doesn’t bog down the reproductive system, making your Living Pelvis a sluggish, dull, dense, lackluster version of what it could be. Healthy movement in the bowels equals at least one nicely formed *but soft* poop per day. If that’s not going on, we may have a bigger issue and it’s not one to ignore. Especially if you’re a new mama.
INSTEAD: enliven your guts with abdominal massages, enemas, and castor oil pack protocols. Don’t let yourself get dehydrated! Eat more fiber. Get movement into your pelvic tissues with diaphragmatic breath. Incorporate an infradian rhythm lifestyle. I work with women all day long to develop personalized protocols for this. Book a Discovery Session with my virtually or in person.
BONUS! #13 Stop repressing your rage, regret, and resentment!
Holding in these emotions poisons your ‘second heart’ - your uterus. Your emotional body is deeply related to your physical pelvis. I’ll go so far to say: ALL pelvic dysfunction has some emotional repression element, I almost guarantee it. We need to unpack and release this content respectfully and honorably. We need to hold our younger ones well while we do it. Mothering our Inner Maidens is work we are here to do, as women born in this moment in history.
INSTEAD: learn to set healthy boundaries, and be exclusive about who gets to experience you. Take care of your inner child, and learn to mother them. I’m offering Mothering the Maiden virtual sessions - new in 2025.
Movement is therapy, babes. I’ve learned a lot about fluid movement and functional flow from my friend Marlo. Also helpful, moving your emotions with somatic therapies like my friend Christina’s monthly Full Moon Howl & Shake!
Okay loves, that was a blast! Hope you had a beautiful NYE and are looking to the next Quarter Century with a renewed vision for yourself and your Living Pelvis.
love love,
Sarah WolfMother
It may have taken decades to get here but I can happily say, this list is my life! What a gem you share here.
So much to dive into and unpack. Thank you ♥️
